Born on August 3, 1926, he developed a passion for singing at a younger age, was consistent throughout his career, and rose to become one of the most sought-after singers.

During a career that spanned eight decades, he amassed many accolades including 20 Grammy Awards, a Lifetime Achievement Award, and two Primetime Emmy Awards.

With more than 70 albums to his name, Bennett sold millions of records around the world throughout his career.

Bennett was known for several chart-topping songs such as; The Way You Look Tonight, Body and Soul and (I Left My Heart) In San Francisco.

He also worked with star performers including; Lady Gaga, Aretha Franklin, and Frank Sinatra, who referred to him as “the best singer in the business”.

Sadly, the legendary pop and jazz singer has died. Tony Bennett passed away at 96 on Friday, July 21, 2023.

At this time of writing, the cause of his death has not yet been made public but he had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2016.

His last public appearance was in August 2021, when he performed at the Radio City Music Hall with Lady Gaga.

As news of his death spread, tributes began to pour in from around the world from fans, music lovers, and the whole music community.
